Quelli che trascurano di rileggere si condannano a leggere sempre la stessa storia (Those Who Fail to Reread Are Obliged to Read the Same Story Everywhere) is a sound work designed as an audio guide for an alternative visit to Milan’s Museo del Novecento. The quote from Roland Barthes that gives the work its title alludes to the need for a new and different reading of twenty-four works in the collection entrusted by the artist to a sample of seventeen people with the most disparate profiles (astronaut, puzzle maker, actress, emergency nurse, musician, filmmaker, poet, philosopher, psychiatrist, and even a child, among others). They recount a rush of thoughts and impressions evoked by the twenty-four masterpieces from the collection selected by the artist. The audio guide composed for each work comprises a collage of voices that introduce us to the rereading of the works in the collection.
