In Paradossi dell’Abbondanza #53 (Paradoxes of Plenty #53) the artist draws a fantasy world consisting of a collection of moving organisms whose colors and light illuminate the darkness of the cosmic space in which they seem to be suspended. What looks, in fact, like a galaxy in space are instead free cells, parts of organs, and other components taken from living organisms connected by fine veins, nerve branches, and other rhizomes that come together, creating new configurations and communication opportunities suggested by floating letters of the alphabet. While inside a paradoxical system of exploitation of life and its many forms, this work suggests a cellular autonomy that reveals an infinite network of possibilities for resistance and resilience to capitalist capture.
