The series of drawings and collages Paradossi dell’Abbondanza (Paradoxes of Plenty) began in 2017 as a critical reflection on the relationship of domination established by human beings towards the Earth and the other species that inhabit it. At the heart of the research is the contradiction between the idea of abundance produced by progress and the conditions of ecological and relational impoverishment that it generates. In Paradoxes of Plenty #45, a multitude of birds and other animals populate the branches of a tree that contains scenes of animal domestication. Domestication thus becomes the paradigm of an artificial separation between nature and culture, human and animal, which has legitimised practices of exploitation and hierarchisation of species.
