In this sung public procession, the theme is water—understood both as a water shortage and a flood emergency—to which a collective song written by the artist and Luca Morino is dedicated. The forty-six-elements choir, led by two donkeys on whose backs loudspeakers broadcast the sound of the word “water” translated into different languages, travels through the streets of L’Aquila under reconstruction to reach the church of San Silvestro, where a final song ends the performance. The theme of water is also linked to L’Aquila’s Fontana delle Novantanove Cannelle (Fountain of Ninety-Nine Spouts), which symbolizes the myth of the city’s new founding in 1265.
