Danza per Capote de Brega (Dance for Capote de Brega) – part of the solo show Fame d’aria, curated by Matteo Lucchetti at Lia Rumma Gallery Naples – is a kinetic sculpture that attempts to give form to the violence-soaked tension between a bull and a bullfighter through the setting in motion of the capote de brega, or the matador’s colorful cape that floats like a membrane between the life and death of the subjects involved in this choreography. A score of gestures that tricks the animal but at the same time also leaves space for gaps, namely for the bull’s charge and the bullfighter’s potential fall.
