Conceived as a sound reinterpretation of the ISPRA’s geological and litho-mineralogical collections housed at the Museo delle Civiltà in Rome, Partitura multispecie andante (Andante Multispecies Score) is a performance and environmental installation composed of the analog sounds re-created by the Foley artists with their own bodies and with the use of everyday objects. This sound narrative brings to life the original echo of the millions of lives concealed by fossils, rocks, and minerals that have become museum exhibits. The score is divided into three movements: in the first, the paleontological part, we take an imaginary walk through the flora and fauna of thousands of years ago; in the litho-mineralogical part, the sound compares mineral extraction to chewing with ASMR sounds, exemplifying resource-consuming human hunger; and finally, in the last part, original sounds, from the archives of Studio Marinelli, and taken from films that have made film history, evoke a concise history of the Anthropocene.
